Resources: Power of Prayer

A consistent prayer life will ensure you don't just have a religion, but that you have a true relationship with Christ. Prayer energizes the heart of a believer through the power of the Spirit. Praying will increase your faith and help you to better know and partner with God.

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

- Philippians 4:6-7 -

Resources that Teach on the Power of Prayer

This page is intended to bring you resources that inspire and strengthen your prayer life. As believers, we can be confident that our prayers are heard. These resources will not only encourage you to draw near to God through prayer but will also help you in your understanding of how to pray with power and effectiveness.

Intercessory Prayer

This is my favorite resource about prayer to date! In this book, "Intercessory Prayer", author Dutch Sheets brings clear and startling revelation on the power of prayer and the role of intercession. Throughout the pages, you will be convinced through scripture that your prayers can, indeed, move heaven and earth. Book is available on Amazon and the audiobook can be found on Spotify.

Why Didn't God Answer My Prayer?

In this sermon originally given at Life.Church in November 2021, Craig Groeschel talks about some of the reasons our prayers don't get answered.

Praying Like Paul Prayed

In his book, "Praying with Paul: A Call to Spiritual Reformation", D.A. Carson encourages believers to follow Paul's example as it walks through patterns and themes in Paul's frequent prayers seen in his letters in the Bible. This book calls us to reject superficiality and revolutionize their lives by embracing a God-guided approach to prayer.

Practicing Prayer

In this message, Matt Chandler at the Village Church makes the case that often prayer is difficult for so many of us not because it's hard to do, but because it is spiritual warfare. Thankfully, Jesus teaches His followers how to pray and we can be encouraged that He wants to partner with us as we do it.
